Why We Love This Tutorial:
This very pretty charm bracelet uses a mix of our new freshwater pearls. You don’t need to use as many as we did, but we think this mix of white, lilac and peach really compliments our new range of rose gold findings.
Beads and Materials You’ll Need:
- 40x Freshwater Pearls – we have used a mix (see links below), but the main rule is the pearls must be no large than 12mm in size as the Rose Gold ballpins are only 20mm long. If you are using a different colour metal (and hence a larger ballpin), you could use whichever pearls you like! These are the pearls we’ve used (keep in mind our pearls changed often so you may have to substitute!)
- 5x 12mm shell based coin pearls
- 5x Crystal Cube Beads 6mm – we have used clear AB (again, pretty much any small clear crystal will work just fine, it just adds a little sparkle).
- approx. 50x Headpins
- Rose Gold Fine Belcher Chain
- Rose gold larger chain (optional extension chain)
- Rose Gold Lobster Clasp
- Rose Gold 4mm jump rings
Tools You’ll Need:
Method:
- Make up 45 dangles. We have used the coil technique for making these dangles, which is a very easy way of creating dangles that are secure and can not fall of your design. In this technique, you simply coil the headpin around you round noose pliers. You need to use relatively short headpins (about 20mm to 25mm) and you’ll wrap about 1-4 times. Some of the large pearls will only get one small loop, but that’s ok!
- Take your fine chain and cut to length. Our chain is about 16cm. Using 4mm jump rings, attach your dangles in a random fashion along the chain. I find it’s easiest to start with the larger beads and then slowly working backward filling in the gaps with the smaller beads.
- Attach your lobster clasp to one end of the bracelet.
- If you are adding an extension chain, cut your large chain to about 5cm. Attach this to your bracelet using a 4mm jump ring. I have also added a little dangle to the end of the extension chain.
- And you’re done!
