Beading Workshops

Have you ever wanted to create your own unique, beautiful jewellery in a fun and social environment? Our beading classes are for you!

  • We run classes all year long, once per fortnight on the Saturday (we run either one or two sittings; if the 2pm sitting fills up we will also run an 11am).
  • Please book online by purchasing the class you would like to attend. Click here to view all available classes. Otherwise you can still call the store on 07 3869 0880 to book in (please note payment over the phone is required to secure your spot). Please read our booking policy below.

NEW BOOKING POLICY!!

Please read our new booking policy carefully.

Class Cost:  $50.00 per person.

* This $50 class payment covers the $15 class fee, and comes with a credit of $35 to use on the day of the class towards your beads.

* This $35 is to be used on the day of the class, and cannot be saved for a later date.  Any unused credit will be forfeited.

* The credit can be used to purchase any items in store, but cannot be used to pay for a future class or to purchase gift cards.

Important Booking Info: Please note, your spot is not secured until payment is received.

* If payment has not been received within 48 hours of purchasing this class, we will automatically cancel your booking.

* For this reason, classes must be paid for by credit card at the time of ordering (through PayPal), OR by credit card over the phone (please call 07 3869 0880 9am to 4pm weekdays; 9am to 2pm Saturday).

* Unfortunately we cannot accept bank transfer payments as these may take numerous days to clear.

* You are welcome to pay in person in store, but please make sure this is within 48 hours of ordering the class.

* Our website considered this class a ‘virtual product’, so you will not be charged shipping on checkout. Please do not purchase any physical items (e.g. beads) with your class order, as it will confuse our booking system and your spot may not be secured. We kindly ask that if you wish to make an online order for beads, please make a separate order.

* If you wish to book into more than one class, it is fine to add multiple classes to your order.

* Once we have received your payment, we will complete your order and you will receive a confirmation email. This is the same automated email we send regularly for our internet orders, so it may say your order has been shipped… please ignore that!

* We will text you the Friday before the class to remind you that you are booked in.

Cancellations

* Class fees ($50) are non-refundable if notice is not given prior to 48 hours of the class being held. By signing up to a class, you are agreeing to this condition.

* Last minute cancellations (due to sickness etc): Unfortunately we cannot provide a refund or transfer if you cancel within 48 hours of the class. We sincerely ask you to understand why this is not possible, for the following reasons:

1. Classes have a very limited seating capacity of 6 students per class.

2. It is difficult (if not impossible) to find someone to fill your spot if we only receive your cancellation at the last minute.

3. Classes are very popular and we almost always sell out, so if you can’t come on the day, as a business we have lost that opportunity to fill your seat.

4. We charge a very minimal fee for the class, $15, as the remaining $35 is a credit to use to purchase any items you like in store. The business does not profit from this class fee as it is only there to cover the cost of the instructor.

5. We put hours of work into preparing for our classes, plus of course staff costs on the day. We are charging $50 for the class (which does include the $35 credit towards beads) because any less than that and we as a business would be spending money to offer the classes.

6. Our classes are very much run to encourage people into beading and to create a wonderful community. We do hope you can understand why we have this policy, as last minute cancellations or no-shows cost our small business money and make it difficult to justify running the classes. Thank-you!!

Important Information:

We have listened to your feedback, and we have changed the format of our classes. Each class will teach a particular design of jewellery. Of course you can still improvise slightly and use whichever colours you like. We won’t be repeating too many of the classes, except the very basic classes such as ‘Stringing 101’ and ‘Earrings 101’. So if you like a design, book into the class as we probably won’t teach that exact design again!

For detailed information on booking and selecting your beads for class, please scroll to the bottom of this page.

General Info:

  • Classes run for an hour and a half.
  • We usually run two classes on the Saturday, the first starting at 11am and the second starting at 2pm. We fill the 2pm class first, and if we have more people wanting to attend, we will then run the 11am class.
  • Most classes are suitable for beginners, unless otherwise specified.
  • We encourage you to come 30 minutes to one hour early on the day to pick your beads. The class instructor will be there to help select the right beads for the class. We discourage coming in before the day of the class as the class instructor knows best which beads to use for the class, and she is not in store every day.
  • Classes are not designed for children, however some may be suitable. Please enquire with us about the specific class you would like your child to attend.
  • Children under 15 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Tools and Materials:

  • All tools are provided for use in the class. However some items
such as beading needles must be purchased or brought from home. The
description of each class will specify.
  • Please do not bring your own beads to the class, all materials must
    be purchased on the day.

Selection of Beads:

  • Selection of beads should primarily take place prior to class.
However, if you find you need something else feel free to select it
    whilst the workshop is running.
  • We encourage you to come 30 minutes to one hour early on the day to pick your beads. The class instructor will be there to help select the right beads for the class. We discourage coming in before the day of the class as the class instructor knows best which beads to use for the class, and she is not in store every day.
  • We will no longer be supplying a basics pack. We do sell almost all
of the basic findings loose if you only want one of something (like
    a clasp for example).
  • We will from time to time specify
if you are encouraged to bring your own tools and sometimes some
    expensive items (like fireline thread).
  • Specific details on how to purchase:
    • If you are buying loose beads, please use the white trays to
collect all the pink pricing tags.
    • If you are buying strands, please keep the pink tag from the top of
      the strand in your tray.
    • If you are purchasing bags of beads/findings, please keep the
      plastic bag in your tray.
    • If you are purchasing from a jar, please take the jar up to the
counter at the end. More than likely other members from the
workshop will have used some of the same item so you can leave it
      at the counter.
