How to Order

By far the simplest way to order is by using our online shopping cart.


  • Just click ‘add to cart’ when you find an item you would like to purchase, and the shopping cart will automatically add up your total (shipping included).
  • After you have finished shopping, simply click ‘Checkout’ and your total will be displayed.
  • You then type in your information – such as shipping address – and click ‘Continue’.
  • From here you have the option to pay via Paypal, PayPal pay in 4, or Bank Transfer.
  • If you pay by credit card, we use a 100% safe, encrypted service.
  • We will then email you to confirm your order and we will supply bank information/our address for money order.
Postage Costs

Here at My Beads, we try to make everything as affordable as possible for you – and that includes shipping. The shopping cart will automatically add the shipping on for you.

The price we charge for shipping covers the cost of the postage itself, the packaging materials used, and also the time it takes to put your order together.

How quickly do you ship?
We post out from the Sandgate store Monday through to Thursday. Payment must clear before the order is posted.

How long will my order take to arrive?
We usually ship very small orders within Australia as letter post (usually 1 to 2 days transit time after payment clears). But most orders are sent by parcel post (1 – 7 business days transit time after payment clears). The closer you are to Brisbane (where we are located) the faster your order will arrive.

What postage method do you use?
We use Australia Post exclusively for all orders.

How can I reduce the time my order takes?
Paying by Paypal is the fastest way to pay. Payment usually clears immediately, unlike all other payment methods. Paying by direct deposit from a Commonwealth bank account, payments usually clear within 24 hours, if not right away.

You may also wish to have your order posted by express post (see below).

Can I have my order sent by express post?
Yes, you can select express post within Australia by choosing that option in the shopping cart checkout. We do not guarantee next day delivery however, as we still must wait for payment to clear. Please note, express postage means we will use an Australia Post express satchel – it does not mean your order will receive priority packing. We pack orders in the order in which they are received).


Do you have a printed catalog and price list?
No, all our stock is listed on the website. We update our stock too often to be able to maintain a printed catalog.

Do I have to enter my email address?
Yes, otherwise you will not receive your order confirmation. If we have any problems with your order, it is easiest and quickest to contact you through email. We do not sell any of your information to third parties, and your information is kept completely private.

Do you have… [insert bead name here]?
All our stock is listed on the website, so if you can’t find it, we don’t have it. However we are always open to suggestions, as we are continuously expanding our product range. We might be putting together a new order for our suppliers at the time of your email, so we will consider your suggestion.

How many beads per strand?
This is an approximate number of beads per strand. It is based on the standard strand length, 40cm/16inch. Shorter strands, such as crystal beads, will have slightly less beads per strand. Each product will have the number of beads per strand in the detailed description.

What are the payment methods available?

  • Paypal: You do not need an account to pay by Paypal, just a credit card. It is the fastest payment method.
  • Direct Bank Deposit: Pay directly into our Commonwealth Bank account. Bank details will be emailed to you after you place your order. You can then pay via online banking or go into your bank to send the payment. If you are paying from a Commonwealth account, payments generally clear immediately. Payments from other banks take up to 3 days to clear.
  • Credit card over the phone: Please select bank deposit in the shopping cart if selecting this option. Please call us on 07 3869 0880 within our operating hours, and have your order number ready.

Is it safe to pay by credit card?
Yes! The payment information is collected securely from our shopping cart, using a 100% safe encryption (see the little lock symbol on the bottom right hand side of your web browser). We do not store credit card information.

All prices are in Australian Dollars.

GST (Goods & Services Tax)
Australian Customers: GST is already included in our prices and will be displayed on your receipt.

The rest of the world: The correct price is displayed in the shopping cart in Australian dollars. Your local government may charge various taxes on importation, however each country/location will vary so please check your own importation rules before ordering.




If the product is faulty, we will either exchange the item or refund in full. However, please be aware of our faulty/broken/missing policy as below.

Note: We pride ourselves on our high quality and value for money. We also try extremely hard to keep our customers happy and this remains our absolute focus. We are a genuinely friendly small business and will always work with you to resolve any issues.

  1. Quantities in bags or on strands
    • All quantities of beads per bag and beads per strand are approximate. Most packaged beads are weighed. Please allow +/- 10% of the number stated.
    • Additionally, it is the nature of beads that a very small quantity may be irregular or broken. This is also covered by this +/- 10%.
    • We will not exchange the small quantity that are not perfect in a bag/strand if it is covered by the 10%.
  2. Colour of beads
    • The photos included are of the actual stock, and we have tried our very best to accurately show the colours within these beads. We do not edit our photos to change the colour whatsoever, however colour between computer monitors and/or phone screens do vary so please keep that in mind. In many cases we have also included a photo outside in natural light to assist in accurate colour depiction (we will be doing this for all gemstones added to the website from now on).
    • We will happily accept items as returns if you do not like the colour or if it’s not suitable for your needs, but this does not make the product faulty. Please see below our procedure for products that you would like to return.
  3. Dyed Beads (particularly gemstones)
    • If a gemstone has been dyed, we specify this in the description and title.
    • It is the nature of dyed beads that a small amount of residue may remain or come out of the beads.
    • This issue will be the same across the board for all gemstone bead suppliers and is outside of our control.
    • If you want to ensure against this, please choose the natural (non-dyed) version of the product if available.

How we handle faulty/missing/broken items:

  1. Low value items <$10 (like findings, pewter beads etc)
    • In most cases we will simply refund if more than 10% of the packaged are damaged or missing. This is rare. Please be aware that as a small business, it is not economically viable to post out a packet of beads worth $2.75 for free (it will cost us around $10.00 in postage plus packaging). Thank-you for your understanding.
  2. Higher Value Items >$10 (e.g. Gemstones)
    • If a higher value item is faulty, we will either require photographs of the product and/or that the product be posted back to us. We will pay the return postage if the product is indeed faulty. Please contact us before sending the product back.
    • We will discuss with you the best option; we may send a replacement if available or provide a refund.



Change of Mind

  1. We are happy to accept returns if you change your mind, or if the item is not suitable for your needs. However, at our discretion we may charge a 15% restocking fee. This is to cover the labour cost of packing the order, particularly if items have been counted out and bagged up. We will also not refund for the postage cost (if you received free shipping, we will not refund the actual cost of shipping plus packaging – usually about $10.00 – $12.00).
  2. NOTE ON FREE SHIPPING: If you return part of your order and that brings your total to less than the free shipping threshold ($75), you will be charged the amount of shipping you would have been charged for that order in the first place.
    • For example, if your order was $80 but you return $20 worth, you will then be charged the $10.00 for postage that normally applies on orders less than $75.00.
  3. If you cancel your order before it has been packaged, we will not charge any fees.
