The crystal Aventurine comes in various colours, including green, brown and blue. It is a silicon dioxide and a member of the Quartz family. The most well-known variety of Aventurine is the Green Aventurine, which is a soft translucent green that ranges from very pale to quite deep green. Aside from the colour, Aventurine’s defining characteristic is the inclusion of tiny particles of mica which give it an unmistakable shimmer in the sunlight. The darker the Aventurine, the more obvious this sparkle. Our range of Green Aventurine beads includes various shades of green.
Aventurine Meaning & Uses
Green Aventurine has been long associated with luck. In fact, it’s name is derived from the Italian word ‘a Ventura’, meaning ‘by chance’. If you need luck on your side (for a competition, in love or perhaps for an exam!) keeping some Aventurine beads close to you may just swing the balance in your favour.
Additionally, as Green Aventurine is a member of the Heart Chakra it is said to bring a sense of calmness. It is a nurturing, loving crystal; not only will it aid in opening one’s heart to let love in, it may also help develop empathy allowing you to connect more closely with others. In the long term, these positive effects may lead to an overall sense of well-being.
Physically, these calming effects may have a knock-on effect on the nervous system; balancing blood pressure and reducing nervous tension and stress. It is probably due to this reduction in stress that Aventurine is known as an effective healing stone in general.
