Why We Love This Tutorial:
The super-cute Dalmatian Jasper crab is the star of this project! It’s otherwise a simply string necklace using tigertail, with a front closing toggle clasp. We have used stainless steel findings throughout, so it will hold up well if you want to wear it at the beach!
Beads and Materials You’ll Need (product name is clickable):
- Crab Pendant (we used Dalmatian Jasper)
- Dalmatian Jasper 6mm beads (one strand is enough for this project with some left over)
- Dalmatian Jasper 4mm beads (one strand is enough for this project with some left over)
- Amazonite flat pebble beads (these are part of our limited edition range, so you might have to substitute something else in – a Turquoise, Chrysocolla or Amazonite nugget perhaps – if making this in the future!).
- 4mm Stainless Steel Wheels
- Stainless Steel Toggle
- Stainless Steel Crimps
- Tigertail
Tools You’ll Need:
- Flat Nose Pliers (for squashing crimps)
- Scissors (for cutting tigertail).
Method:
- This is a choker length necklace. You should make it as long as you’d prefer or however long will suit your neck. Cut a piece of tigertail to about 50cm. Attach the tigertail to the loop on one side of the toggle (either the ‘O’ section or the bar; it doesn’t matter which!).
- Thread on your beads. We have used a 4mm wheel spacer between each bead. We have used a flat amazonite pebble with a 6mm dalmatian jasper between each.

- Once you have threaded on all the Amazonite flat pebbles & 6mm Dalmatian Jasper beads, it’s time to add the 4mm round dalmatian jasper beads. We have used 33 beads (this makes a very small choker). Adjust to the length that you would like.
- Thread on the remaining Amazonite and 6mm dalmatian jasper beads.
- Finish off the necklace with another crimp, and attach the other half of your toggle.
- To attach the crab pendant, open the snap bail on the pendant, hook it into the ‘O’ section of the toggle, and close up the snap bail again.

- And you’re done!
