Why We Love This Tutorial:
How simple and elegant is this?! We have used some of the beautiful new African Turquoise wheel beads with a free-form Amazonite pendant (each one is different!). Of course, we’ve thrown in a few of our 4mm Tarnish Resistant gold wheels as spacers every so often to bling it up a little 😀 This is a simply strung necklace using tigertail, with a front closing bolt clasp.
Beads and Materials You’ll Need (product name is clickable):
- 4mm Gemstone Wheels (we have used African Turquoise wheels)
- Gemstone Pendant (we have used an Amazonite pendant with gold bail).
- 4mm Tarnish Resistant Wheel Beads (we’ve used gold)
- Tarnish Resistant Bolt Clasp
- Crimps
- Crimp Covers
- Tigertail
Tools You’ll Need:
- Flat Nose Pliers (for squashing crimps)
- Scissors (for cutting tigertail).
Method:
- This is a choker length necklace. You should make it as long as you’d prefer or however long will suit your neck. Cut a piece of tigertail to about 50cm. Attach the tigertail to the loop on one side of the bolt clasp (using a crimp). Attach a crimp cover over the crimp if desired (we have!).
- Thread on your beads. We have used a 4mm gold wheel spacer every 4cm.
- Finish off the necklace by attaching the tigertail to the other side of the bolt clasp. If using, attach a crimp cover over the crimp.
- The pendant is detachable – simply open the bolt clasp and slide on your pendant.
