Why We Love This Tutorial:
We can’t help but get on board the chunky gemstone necklace trend – 10mm round beads surely make a statement! We also were excited to try out the new Locking Crimps (aka Lollipop Crimps), so check them out below in use! We love the chunky wavy gold toggle, so we used it at the front as a statement.
Beads and Materials You’ll Need (product name is clickable):
- Gemstone Pendant (we’ve used this Amethyst pendant)
- 10mm Gemstone Round Beads (we’ve used Fancy Jasper 10mm round beads)
- 6mm Gold Tarnish Resistant Wheels
- Tarnish Resistant Toggle
- Locking Crimps Beads (aka Lollipop Crimps)
- Tigertail (we used gold)
Tools You’ll Need:
- Flat Nose Pliers (for locking crimp)
- Scissors (for cutting tigertail).
Method:
- This is a choker length necklace. You should make it as long as you’d prefer or however long will suit your neck. Cut a piece of tigertail to about 60cm.
- Attach one half of the toggle to the end of your tigertail. We have used the new locking crimps. Simply slide the tigertail through the crimp, up and through the loop on the toggle, and back through the crimp. Push the button on the side of the locking-crimp in with your flat nose pliers.
It will sit flush or very near to flush, and look like a 4mm round bead. Nifty!
- Thread on your beads. We have used a 6mm wheel spacer every 5 beads.
- Once you have threaded on your desired length of beads, attach the other half of the toggle using a locking crimp.
- To attach the gemstone pendant to the toggle, use two pairs of pliers to carefully open the snap bail. Slide the snap bail over the ‘O’ section of your toggle, and close up again using your pliers.

- And that’s it!
