Fancy Jasper Description
Fancy Jasper is one of the many different variations of Jasper. Jasper, on a mineral level, is an aggregation of quartz and/order Chalcedony, as well as other mineral inclusions1. A good way to tell Jasper apart from other crystals is that it is opaque. Fancy Jasper is a mixture of many colours of Jasper, usually deep green, brown, yellow and dark red. It’s this fancy mix that gives the stone it’s name! It is also sometimes referred to as Indian Agate, however very similar, we find Indian Agate to be more translucent than the Fancy Jasper.
Fancy Jasper Meaning & Uses
As with most Jaspers, Fancy Jasper is said to be a very nurturing crystal. It will help support you in times of stress, providing a feeling of well-being and tranquillity. It is said to help quash negative emotions, and helps one to enjoy the present moment.
Physically, Fancy Jasper may offer a boost to the immune system and is said to be beneficial for those suffering with chronic illness. It is a great stone to carry with you when travelling, as it is said to be a protective stone (largely due to the effects on immunity).
