White Top-drilled Blister Freshwater Pearls – 8mm [strand]

Full strand of cultured freshwater pearls in a top-drilled blister shape. These are on average 8mm long, but some are as small as 6mm long and occasionally as big as 10mm long. The width across the pearl varies greatly; from about 12mm wide to as much as 24mm for some of the longer drops. These are a natural creamy white, but they have some dark green markings on the back of some pearls.

What are Cultured Freshwater Pearls?
Cultured freshwater pearls are farmed natural pearls grown by mussels. The mussel is implanted with a tiny piece of mantle tissue, in a process called nucleation. The pearl will then form around this tiny piece of mantle and be harvested when the desired size/age is reached. One mussel can produce dozens of pearls!
